Phizzfest Summer Festival is a weekend full of artists and creatives celebrating our local vibrant Phibsborough community, and we were delighted to be a part of it with our Phizzfest Showcase and Community Taster Workshop.
We decided to take Phizzfest as a brilliant opportunity to have our magnificent in-house performers showcase what they spend their time working so hard on in our studio. In the spirit of Phizzfest, this event was entirely free to the public. We were however accepting open donations to raise money for NCBI, a national charity which works to transform the lives of children and adults who are blind or suffer from impaired vision.
We are delighted to have welcomed a full house and raised almost €200! We could not have done this without your generosity and the stars of the night: @zar.acoustic performing incredible original guitar pieces throughout the night; Hannah Gumbrielle performing vertical dance; Aaron Duesing on silks; Julie Kent on rope; Luci Barretto on silks; Ciara Louise Grey with her first ever performance on straps; Hanna Botelho on rope; Michelle Murphy on silks; Jess Timlin (Bugsy Devine) on hoop and Sean McIlraith and Monika Palova each performing on rope and at one point even at the same time! And not to forget, our very own Shane Holohan as MC for the night. This was such a proud night for the studio as it’s rare we get to host so many of our students and teachers performing together and we want to thank everyone who came to support us. We were also delighted to see so many new faces at our Phizzfest Taster Workshop the next morning! It really was an absolute joy to have so many people in the studio coming together to celebrate a really wonderful weekend for the studio and Phibsborough in general. We want to extend a massive thank you to Phizzfest for the fantastic job they did organising the weekend festivities and for giving us the opportunity to be part of it. Can't wait for next year!
